A link holds the jobs to read or write your data. Links are created in the Deck Dashboard.
1

Create a link in the dashboard

Click the + next to Links in the left navigation of the dashboard. You can build with templated links already connected to verified sources, or use “Link Builder” to connect to a custom source.
2

Create your Jobs

While building your link, Deck will identify the jobs most relevant to the data you’re looking to fetch. These jobs match a custom input and output schema to your use case. In sandbox, this will also create mock schema with both inputs and outputs that map to your identified data.

Sources and source IDs

Once you’ve created your link, you need to identify the sources you want to connect to. Sources in Deck have a source_guid. You will use this source_guid to open a connection to the source and pass your user’s credentials to authenticate.

Getting a source ID from the Dashboard

You can find the source ID in your link configuration.

Getting a source ID from the API

You can use the search sources API endpoint to find a source_guid.

Example source IDs

To move faster while testing the API, you can use IDs from common sources available in Deck:
